Terry English is a homicide inspector working for the SFPD. He was partnered with Hildy Mulligan until Jim Koto was shot while apprending a school bus shooter, when English took over his role as Lieutenant temporarily. He was married to a woman called Emily English until she died of pancreatic cancer in 2014.
